Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Treatment

Picture
Acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine originating in China more than 3,000 years ago.  By inserting extremely fine/thin needles into different areas of the body, or by using other non-needle techniques, we are able to stimulate the Qi (energy or Prana), blood and body fluids to help the body work more efficiently.

This medicine affects the mind, body and spirit.  By treating physical symptoms, we can affect the mind, emotions and spirit positively.  By treating the spirit, we can help the body’s functions run more smoothly.

The needles are inserted into meridians, or energy pathways located in the connective tissues, as well as areas that may be experiencing pain or tension (such as muscles).
You may feel a slight pinch or very subtle sensation upon insertion, and then a feeling of calm or well-being, or even an active point.  Treatments build upon each other, and diagnoses are made based on the root causes of dis-ease, as well as your individual constitution.

Acupuncture can help with the following conditions, plus many more:

  • Depression, anxiety, stress
  • Pain management; acute & chronic injuries
  • Arthritis; joint and muscle pain
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Reproductive & urogenital health
  • Weight loss, cravings & body image
  • Addictions:  prescription or recreational drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, food
  • Having a sense of well-being, calm, and balance
  • Helping the whole body, mind and spirit function more efficiently
  • Living in harmony with nature and the seasons

As an acupuncturist, I really care about my patients.  Your health is not just your physical body. I will ask into your mood, emotions, and quality of thoughts.  I care about your family and pets and your relationships with yourself and those around you.  I will ask questions like:

  • What’s flourishing in your life?
  • What is your favorite season?
  • How do you nourish yourself?
  • What inspires you?
  • What are you passionate about?

Questions like these are diagnostic, and help me understand what makes you tick and how your Qi moves through you. My job is to empower you to participate in your own transformation. Together we facilitate healing in the body, mind and spirit as a whole.

I am taking new patients in Annapolis, MD.  Call, text or email to ask questions or to schedule: (540) 220-6563 or [email protected]
